After this assessment hair-thin, single-use sterilized disposable acupuncture needles are used at specific points on the body. Cupping, gua sha, and infrared heat therapy may also be implemented. 

 

When the needles are inserted, there is often a tingling or warm sensation. Treatments are relaxing and energizing. The length and frequency of a treatment will vary depending on needs.

 

Herbal treatment will often be prescribed in addition to acupuncture. Some clients seek stand alone herbal treatment as well. Prescriptions can involve a range of products, from raw herb teas, pills, tinctures, topical applications, and herbal concentrates.
